Katie Stackhouse, Constellation, 2019

The floor sculpture and performance Constellation investigates the intricate and complex connections created between

the natural world and human relations. The accompanying performance involves the artist pouring

molten beeswax into moulds which reference the human body as other objects are placed with

intentional regard to one another, inviting contemplation of these delicate relations and

sites. Stackhouse combines stone, beeswax, gold, plaster and clay as a signifier of temporality and

community.
